The Natural History Museum Project – Darwin’s Garden Enhancements
The aim for this project was to create a botanical plant list that would provide nectar and pollen-rich plants throughout the seasons for honeybees and other pollinating insects.
The plants also had to suit site and soil specifications as well as the aesthetic of the spatial design and surrounding architecture.
Intense research in botany and insect-floral relationships led the work for this project to design ‘an insect forage garden’.
During her research Amy worked with The Royal Horticultural Society, Sussex University Department of Apiculture, The Chelsea Physic Garden and the NHM Museum’s own specialists.
