Amy Pliszka is a Designer and Artist. Coming from Textile Futures MA at Central St Martins (2011) has enabled a real understanding of cutting-edge materials, technologies and processes highly relevant to Interior Design and Architecture. Her History of Art BA (2002) enabled a deeper perspective of the place art has in our culture.
Founder of Bees Beside Us, a project that aims to promote the welfare of the honeybee within an urban environment, since graduating she has exhibited this project at The Victoria and Albert Museum as part of London Design Festival, Arup Headquarters (London) and has recently had solo exhibition at fashion designer Agnès b flagship store in Covent Garden (3 May-1st June 2013.)

Amy has recently completed a 3 week Artist in Residence  and teaching programme (24th June-12th July 2013) with RIVA (Residencies in Visual Arts) where she has been teaching Year 5 children at Hanover School in Islington the importance of  future welfare of the honeybee through a series of designed & collaborative Art workshops.


I prefer a more personal approach and a hands- on practice. I love research as it feeds my curiosity and sense of adventure which can be enlisted into my work and inspire a fresh perspective. I like handling fabrics and manipulating materials to explore their capabilities and to learn from them
